Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I'm worried about the health of my most beloved lava lamp. It's developing bubbles in the wax. It only started a couple of months ago but it now seems to be getting worse. I think its sick.

An amazing thing has happened. The bubbles have pretty much sorted them selves out but meanwhile the lamp has undertaken a transformation. The wax which was initially quite white has become clearer as the bubbles have dissipated. Now its almost transparent and looks better than it ever did. All it took was patience! There are still a few bubbles in the wax but they're very small and now just make it more attractive.

Also, sometimes the bubbles can occur when the bottle has been moved whilst it is still hot or cooling down...They should settle though!

The bulb is 30W clear with a mirrored back.
OK. I guess I'll just let it run for a few weeks and see if it corrects itself.
Unfortunately I cant send a pic.

I really dont know how old it it because I bought it at a second hand store. Its white wax with light blue tinted water (well what ever that clearish stuff is).

They would be from very small up to around 10mm across. Perhaps there's some sort of contamination in the mix. I hope the solution is not to empty it out and renew the contents. That looks very complicated.
