Yeah, it is just an oil burner with the tray for oil taken off. The flame is in direct contact. It heats up really fast. Like 15 minutes fast.

Yeah the candle lava lamp just worked great with just a tea light! The candle heats up the glass really quick but it doesn't seem to get any hotter than a lamp. It's an easy project! You outta try it!
