Good lamp, really good spray!
Great to see another Brit Fantasia collector, too
Thanks Andy! This lamp is earmarked for a project which should see it illuminating something akin to a Cosmos 5000. I have sourced a circular table and 2 clear acrylic globes are on order to get this underway. I had a mysterious stop-start of the rotation of the lamp happening a little while back but now it seems to be functioning properly again and fingers crossed it will continue to do so. I'd love to a acquire a Mathmos Jupiter 2 or a Fantasia Solar 1 but both are rare, the Mathmos in particular! At this time there is a Solar 1 for sale from Italy and it's commanding big money so owing one will remain a pipe dream..
I feel a good spray is vital to all these lamps and why modern, often as not cheap versions, are simply not in the same ball-league with their plastic offerings! It'd be great of some concern came about that made lamps that matched these of yesteryear and looking at the prices the vintage stuff are now going for surely they'd be onto a winner with such an enterprise? Good to see also that there are fans of these this side of the pond too!
