The colours look a lot nicer in the flesh than on the mathmos website - i had a job choosing one that looked good in their pics, but all the ones i've seen are sweet :D

How much taller is the globe without the top on? I just like to have a little more room to flow and so do my lamps.

The bottle cap sits more or less flush with the actual top of the top, if you get what i mean.
The top of the bottle is tapered up to a small cap though so not ~that~ much space in there, it's shaped closer to say a beer bottle than anything else.
