I took roughly 3 hours to start and about a half hour more to flow. i'm using the r20 100watt bulb on a dimmer...once it flows, i drop to about 70% and it'll flow for days without overheating.

Was wonderin I used more surf then you but its new so maybe it will break in because my flow is slightly slower. WHAT I really wanted to ask is how long did it take for the color to lighten because I added all the blue and all the green and a touch of yellow and believe it or not ended up with a dark RED but this is impossible on the color wheel so I expect it to lighten !!! How long did it take for yours to lighten because its wonderful thx man lookin good again :)
it's been nearly 2 weeks, and i run it every day for 10 hours+...and oddly enough the shade hasn't changed or lightened...
It's become less transparent, but still the same strawberry-ish red it was when i first fired her up. So either it won't change, or it'll take longer then expected. If i notice a change, i'll post it here

How much of the wax dye did you use for this? I used a whole pack on my 52 oz globe and its a wonderful fiery cherry red. Perhaps one needs more red dye than one pack for a Grande?
