Wondering the same thing, Vox.  Brad, what material is that spinning piece in Santa made out of, it appears to bump the sides as it spins.   Love the tornado effect in the Christmas tree.

it's all plastic.  there is a very slight bumping sound on the santa.  the sound of the motor spinning the insert makes more noise than plastic bumping sound.  i'll do a video later if you are interested.  they are cool.  my grandma got them for me.

Brad, wasn't it your Grandma who had the heat tapes lamps too?  I think it was heat tapes, regardless, I thought they were beautiful.   Awesome Grandmama!    If you have a chance, I'd love to see a video to hear the noise those make.   No rush, and only if you catch a chance.

my paternal grandmother gave me the heat tapes (good memory), but these were given to me by my maternal grandmother.  they are cool ladies indeed!  i will get a video later tonight when the house is quiet.

i think youtube uses some sort of noise cancelation as i can clearly hear some knocking on the video on my phone, but not on youtube.  anyway, here is the video.

I can't hear any knocking either, so if it's no louder than that it shouldn't be bad at all.  Just curious, thanks for taking the video.

they are cool lamps, but would be even cooler if they ran on AC power. :)
