One of my smart astros had a broken heat source and two arent enough to make lava rise....glitter works though and with a bit of modding it barely fits a metal jet...trying to get a new heating element to make the jet work with lava as well.

This is great!
How did you do this? I have a broken smart astro as well. The leds and the heating ring dont work anymore. I dont know if its cause of the little microchip board being bad or it is indeed the leds and heat ring that are bad.
the unit I used on this had only one of the three heating elements that are screwed ontom the ring not working , led's were fine though and two element were hot enough to make glitter bottles move. I dont have it anymore as I think eventually it stopped working at all but dont remember as its years ago and my brain seems to have lost some bits of information due to certain influences and a ton or two of medicinal herbs...also back then I didnt have a clue about electronics and didnt even attempt to fix it I guess. if you upload a pic of the board I can have a look what might be the problem but I could imagine its the led:s which got too hot and died since leds instantly die at 85Celsius...they work for years at 84.9 but once they reach 85 they quit...unfortunatley thats exactly the range where lava gets moving...to be honest I dont know what they were thinking when they made the smart astros...at least every second unit died within a week. the board seems to be the worst quality one could choose......but...I also think making a working one isnt that hard... do you have some e-skills and are able to solder a simple board? I could try and have one developed or just look for existing ones which can be combined.
pease excuse missing letters etc, my keyboard is low on battery and I really have to punch it to make it type...
