Sorry to join the chat on this thread 10 years too late!
Saw something very similar today at the Car Boot Sale in Surrey and wish I had bought it! It had green wax and the Dragon was green too. Very elaborate and heavy too as I picked it up to examine.
Got Non-buyers remorse now!!
Hi Marcel,
No - of course it's not metal - it's resin through and through.
The glass bottle is nice and solid though.
The whole thing weighs 2.5kg and the original price sticker underneath says £37.99
It was bought from Widdop Bingham & Co in Birmingham - they're wholesalers of Chinese giftware....and obviously it has a Made in China sticker too.
Definitely ok for a lava lamp from anywhere, I reckon!
Hi Marcel - yep - I know they're cheapo lamps but they still look quite good.
The joins in the segments of the dragon's tails aren't brilliant, for example - but they work from a distance and look the part. And definitely not a 'regular' item on eBay uk.
Aladdin - believe it or not we bought it on eBay earlier this year. Can't remember what it was listed under - something like dragons and Myth & Magic.
However, my wife thinks it's too 'dark' for her liking - despite the fact that she collects dragons and lava lamps.
Thanks Bohdan for your praise! Any flattery is always welcome!!!
WOW !!!!
I love this lamp. Its the first time I've seen one of these.
Where did you find it, and do you or ayone on here know anything about it ?
