GemLite differences

I had both of my GemLites out recently and noticed some differences. I have one bottle with big glitter and one with smaller glitter which is the only thing I noticed but after looking at the bases they are different also. The big glitter bottle came on a base with tac welds and the small glitter bottle came on a base with interlocking tabs which is much sturdier (notice the tac weld top is split). The big glitter bottle has no date and the small glitter bottle has "Dec 1979" on it. I purchased the big glitter with original box but the small glitter has no box, I believe the big glitter is older maybe mid 70's. The color tape on the bottom is the same but the big glitters is worn much more. Both work flawlessly after all these years...

Mine sit very stable, the bottle would take the base over if it was bumped into. One of them sits alittle crooked but its the way its put together. Do yours fit inside the base ? Mine go in about half a inch. Make sure the metal "U" the bottle sits on is tight from below and in the right position, you can bend it to make it right.
