Hughes "Signature Series" Vessels for the Original Lava Simple "The Wave" Machines.

These are one-off custom designs I created during the downtime of the pandemic as a benchmark for my passion, creativity and craftsmanship for wave motion machines over the last 10 years. Each handmade vessel is fashioned from edge-lit fluorescent acrylic which is eye-popping in natural light but also UV reactive. Imagine the possibilities for fluid color combinations in one of these one of a kind pieces. Some of the vessels feature mirror backing, which is also a completely new design concept.…See More

"I have a feeling those run. They look to be in OK shape. Getting the original wax/liquid moving is going to be a safer bet than restoring. Magma tower has kits, but I (and several other members) had issues with wax sticking around the base. So much…"

"Have you run the lamps and confirmed the wax is dead or too ugly?  I'd start there with the possibility of having to modify the existing old wax rather than replace.  "

Hey man!  Pocket wave arrived, baby steps to that new vessel! My keys just became 1000 times more badass, thank you!

Offshoot question, how do the vessels, your full plexi welded and a typical glued/extruded vessel, hold up in temperature changes?  Are the fluids freeze resistant or will they freeze like water and crack the vessel?

Hi Torrey ! Thanks for leaving a comment. Since my original posting, I have established the nature of the two liquids and the tilting mechanism. As you have noted, the real challenge will be to find the appropriate acrylic tube. I have not yet found a source for rectangular acrylic. Have you made any inroads toward making a wave machine ?
