Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This was a new one on me. Fired up my Giant and it was flowing just fine, but it was barely visible. Lifted up the globe, and this is what I saw. The bulb was still alive and putting out enough heat, but the inside top had turned black. Obviously an easy fix with a new bulb, but I've never seen this happen before. Weird.

I've had plenty of bulbs do that.  Not reflectors though.  Mostly those C7 bulbs used for night lights and xmas lights.  Still barely lit but black.  Weird.  Hopefully just a bad bulb.  Did you put a new one in?  Is it running ok now?

Not sure if that's a GE bulb, but can say GE customer service is real good about compensating for bad bulbs, if you write them.  Good luck!
