Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Ok so... my Lava World White and Blue lamp is dying....

After only 2 months my Lava World White wax with Blue liquid is dying.. You guys are on point, these things are complete crap!

It took a week for it to start working in the first place. Then after that it was fine and very pretty to look at.

More recently I turned it off while the wax was still warming up and it froze with the wax half way up the bottle when I turned it off... I didn't think anything of it, it looked kinda cool that way. I left it there for two weeks and I knocked it over at one point which did little more then make bubbles stick to the frozen collum of wax.

The next time I turned it on I noticed black specs mixing with the white lava. I noticed then that this was from the coil at the bottom. Apparently it was directly exposed to the blue liquid and it rusted!!! Now not only are there black specks int he wax itself but the wax doesn't touch the coil all the way around which causes it to hang out at the bottom and do nothing.

What a great peice of work this thing is!

I guess I'll have to buy a vintage lava lamp on Ebay or pay lots for a Mathmos. I'll have to keep an eye out for a blue wizard lamp on ebay, those look pretty neat. I see theres a red one there now but it doesn't match my decor.

So there you have it... stay the **** away from those Lava World peices of junk! Maybe its still under warranty and can get them to send me a new globe at least.

Get a 32oz blue white from the 90s. It will last you many many years.
Yeah, what Matt said.

Also, good luck on replacements now. I emailed lava whatever they are called now about 4 weeks ago regarding a cloudy red/clear they sent me. Nothing. Nada. I guess they just don't care anymore.
Kudos to Anthony :D
