Gee! I thought I was probably the only person looking for one of these, and now I find there's even a web-based group of us. I've found some knock-offs that have plastic dolphins and/or surfers inside, but I want one similar to those in the photos you folks have posted. Guess I'll need to hit all of the flea markets I can find!

I agree Wayne. By the time that I pay for shipping, I will have paid over $100 Cdn. That's a little too steep for my budget. Or should I say the third revision of my budget. Thanks for the link. I'll keep looking.

Hi Mark I was unable to find that on ebay. Thanks for the opportunity.

Does this place rightonlavalamps really exist? I tried their website but nothing on it seems to work. If they are for real do they have wave machines.

By the way, we are close to finishing the renos on the bar. Once they have been completed, I will post some pics. We have twelve of the Grande Lava brand lamps, one rocket lamp and one lightening lamp, all ready to be put into action. I wanted to get a few of the Tranquil Tide Machines and a few of the Colossus Lava lamps but the tide machines cannot be found and the Colossus lamps are not sold in Canada. We will make do with what we have and build from there. Keep your eyes open for pics in the next couple of weeks.

Steve - Did you get my comment about the Bud Light wave machine now on eBay? It's a real Lava Simplex. If you don't have one, this one would be perfect for a bar.

I tend to agree with what wayne says but in light of the recent spike in demand for these products, you would think that someone would step up to fill the demand. Cleary, there are several of us around that would pay the price to get a good looking wave machine. Then again how many is enough to warrant setting up production, distribution etc.. All I know is that I am keeping my eyes open, watching Craig's List, EBay & Kijiji until I find one.

Just a guess but in all my reseach i've found that wave's use silicone oil, and cast acrylic plastic. Well silicone oil is wicked expensive ( to the tune of 50 dollars a gallon for the cheapest i've found ) and cast plastic is high as hell to! Now with that being said the cost to make one of these and sell it cheap in a time when lava lite sells lava lamps at walmart for 12 bucks it's hard to make a wave that is cheap to produce and sell at low cost when your company is know for selling cheap priced stuff. It's just a conflict of interest to make something that cost 20 - 30 dollars to make and sell it for 60 -70 when your main product is made in china at a cost of 12 dollars on a american shelf. Anyone else got a theory?
