Matt- they no longer use the old codes no, but having the knowledge as to what the code on say a Blue/white US made lamps makes it to a collector can identify what a seller is claiming to be a Clear/White but it really a super sunfaded Blue/White

Very nice, but I don't think Lava Lite uses the original codes anymore.  No where on their blue/red lamps do I see 27 anywhere.  ):
