Correction: It was given to me in 1999. It has the date Mar 25 1999 stamped in blue on the grey felt on the bottom. It has only been turned on for a few hours about a half dozen times.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I've been interested in lava lamps/lites since the 70s. I finally got one in 2000 given to me when I was an employee at Microsoft. It has blue wax(?), clear liquid, a silver base, and has the Internet Explorer 5.0 graphics etched in the glass. It is an official "Lava Lite" as indicated by the cap. I think there were only about 100 - 120 made. I'm very curious to know what it is worth, especially since it is barely used (only for a few hours a half dozen times over 10 years). I suppose I should start a thread about it.

Hi Jason and a warm welcome to Oozing Goo the lava lamp syndicate. Why not tell us more about yourself and your interest in the lava lamp scene. It would be nice to know. With over 1800 worldwide members here, you're bound to get any assistance you may need on various lava lamp issues/queries and of course, do check out some of the great lava lamp collections on display here and some great pictures/videos too. There's always plenty of other cool stuff on other funky lighting like glitter lamps and fiber optic lamps as well. Why not start or contribute towards one of the (usually lava lamp related) discussions here too.

Oh yes, and don't forget the chat function to interact with your fellow lava lamp fans here as well!

Kind regards
