Jeff replied to Shawn's discussion Broken globe on torchiere floor lamp! Please help me find a suitable replacement!
"Yea it sounds like you might need a dimmer if 40 watts is too hot, 25 was too cold, and it wouldn't flow.  Probablhy need around 30/35 watts, which an inline dimmer could achieve. Honestly thought I think its just a case of a globe not…"

Jeff replied to Shawn's discussion Broken globe on torchiere floor lamp! Please help me find a suitable replacement!
"That's odd yours is tagged for 25 watt...mine is 40 watt as well.  I don't think the 25 is getting it hot enough to flow."

Jeff replied to Shawn's discussion Broken globe on torchiere floor lamp! Please help me find a suitable replacement!
"Mine's still crystal clear but I don't use it too often.  B/c the first one I had I used it mostly every night after a few months wax started to stick to the sides.  Luckily I was still able to take it back and get another, they…"

Jeff replied to Shawn's discussion Broken globe on torchiere floor lamp! Please help me find a suitable replacement!
"Wow you've got the whole lava lamp part out...I've never un-threaded that part and had the wires exposed.  You should be able to firmly grasp the glass part and the black plastic part and try to rock it side to side...or twist it.…"

Jeff replied to Shawn's discussion Broken globe on torchiere floor lamp! Please help me find a suitable replacement!

Jeff replied to Brian's discussion Grande Bulb Option?
"My heritage and rainbow grandes both take about 6-7 hrs to get going.  My Grande from back in 2002 takes about 4.  I think the difference is the holes in the base on the heritage ones.  I haven't tried the rainbow one in a solid…"

Jeff replied to Miss Chi V. Us (Kim S)'s discussion Anyone know how to change the lava lamp bulb on one of these?
"Carefully lift up on the top of the arm that is sitting on the top cap (that's holding up the torchiere part) and remove the cap. Then you will have just enough clearance to pull the globe out at an angle to get to the bulb.  It…"

"The filter I used is this one.  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030DH1RY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00   You MUST make sure it does not have carbon....that WILL ruin the lamp.  Learend the hard…"
