for the last ten plus years my occupation has and currently is as a nurse. Just turning forty, I have been presented with the opportunity to go to art school at PNCA.. I am planning to start this fall 2013.
yeah, you can ask me anything. I've managed to build a couple of these really large ones relatively cheaply, without the glass shattering. People have tried this before and have had them shatter causing all sort of problems (fire and electrocution hazarded), but I have a series of stress tests I do before even attempting to build one of these guys. I think the only reason I got these vase to work without breaking was I learned also much as I could about glass blowing and manufacturing. I found it strange that everyone was warning not to use a glass vase because they always break and then go ahead and make a lava lamp out of a Absolute Bottle without it shattering. So I'm saying it's possible but risky at the same time, but if you look for the right things you can build an awesome large lava lamp that doesn't cost you 1,650 dollars, you just got to use alot of smarts and patients to get it right. Of course I'll always to be happy to sell on of these guys if this seems daunting, but since your asking how I'm sure you rather try it on your own (at you own risk, so please be careful). I'll answer any questions you got regarding how I did this.
