I love the lava, both vintage an newer. I'm interested in a Champagne Mist. English Bull Terrier rescue and fostering, Volvo 1800's, listening to Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" (great to listen to while watching the lava!) and Diamanda Galas. I'm STILL planning on moving to Placitas, NM. It's beautiful there!! A wierd kharma keeps me stuck here in the Pacific Northwest.

My First Lava Lamp was:
I remember the first Lava Lamp I saw up close. It was a red/yellow Century. It belonged to my mom's friend. She had it on her entry table. I think this was back in 1967. I was hooked!
I restored the flow using Weebo's advice.
I used Kosher salt to allow the wax to float easier and a little bit of soap for surfactant.
When I got the lamp the wax was stuck all inside the globe and wouldn't flow. Fortunately it wasn't cloudy. I took the liquid and wax out. Cleaned the globe really well then put it back together. It flowed well, but the wax started sticking to a spot I missed. So I repeated the cleaning.
When I put it back together, the wax was really heavy for some reason. So I searched around for advice and Weebo helped me out a whole lot.
