Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Please enjoy the cheesy music bed I chose. :) This is a hard lamp to film, but here's my best attempt.

It's not bad! Looks better in person than in pics. It's actually very neat to watch. I got this from Amazon for $18 shipped.

EDIT: apparently, this is supposed to have GLITTER in it. Either the glitter is dissolved, or Lava Lite's idea of glitter is different than mine. There is NO glitter in this lamp. There IS white "stuff" in there - looks like the same kinda stuff that's in snow globes.

That's super disappointing Erin.....just like the disappointment when I have to literally pull 6 lamps from their sleeves only to find junk quality ufo's floating in liquid!!!  OMG!!!  I've resorted to making my own.  At least the minor imperfections if any I know are due to my own doing and I can improve on them if I want to.  If they haze or cloud, pop the top put some clean, fresh distilled in and i'm back in biz.  I just can't deal with this stupid company any longer.  I'm still waiting for a reply on the gunk in my son's green neon that I sent all my info in to Susan weeks ago!  The only thing I will be spending money on is if I need a lamp for goo kit fodder.  Unfortunately their globes aren't any good anymore either......it is sad.....

Well, I received the replacement today after a long wait. The replacement lamp that was sent to me by Lava Lite/Susan has the white fluff in it - same as what I returned. So disappointing. I just think people have a different idea of what "glitter" is. Luckily, I am within the return window from Amazon.com, so it's going back.

I did get a cool little glitter nightlight from Susan, which is neat, but honestly, I'm done. I'm done altogether with these new lamps from Lava Lite - it's too frustrating, esp knowing what quality *used* to be like. So, if you can put up with the imperfections and the short lifespan of their lamp, go for it. I can't waste anymore money on these lamps. It makes me sad, in a way. Such a cool product and could be a cool company, but they've just been getting it wrong for YEARS now and I can't continue to hold out hope that they'll get their shit together. :(

I think she's stumped - I don't know that's she's as hyper focused on these lamps as I am. I'm willing to bet I'm the first person who's even noticed or complained about the missing "glitter". I am sending her some good pics tonight, but there's definitely no glitter in them. The only reason I bought this one from amazon is because I couldn't find them locally (duh, didn't check Wal-Mart) and I know amazon's return policy is good.

I like the lamp honestly and I might keep it, but glitter would be COOLER! We'll see what Susan has to say when I send her pics of a NON-glitter'd tornado lamp.

Im really wondering if your glitter disintegrated from sitting around too long??  OR, what about this scenario?  They screwed a batch up and didn't put the glitter in?  Nothing would surprise me when it comes to LL anymore, lol!!!  Just got my son another 52 oz Neon Green a few months ago and there is already brown stuff in the coil.  I wonder what that is?  Can't be rust in such a new lamp.  And besides, when I goo kit and clean the coils, they come out shiny, squeaky clean.  So your lamp missing it's glitter really doesn't surprise me.  Erin, do you have a local Walmart near you?  Mine down here had a butt ton of those tornado lamps.  I was thinking if you could buy it at a local store, you could bring it home and check it out.  Compare it.  At least you would know what's what.  I know it's dishonest, but you could even put the Amazon lamp back in the box and return it to Walmart.  They wouldn't know the difference and plus they all end up going back to LL anyway, so it's not like you're being a thief.  You legally paid for it.  I know it's a bit of a switch.  I guess it depends on how good your conscious is, lol!!  Well, at least you can get the word out for the rest of us poor consumers who think they're buying something and end up getting something else.  I can't wait until you get the Vortex.  Then you will really be able to see the difference.  So Susan never ended up offering up any explanation as to what happened to the missing glitter in the lamp then huh?

Well, Susan said she pulled two cases and there was no white "fluff". They all have glitter. So I'm preplexed. I ordered the Vortex glitter lamp from Amazon.com and that will be here Wednesday, so we'll see what the lamp really is. Lava Lite shows the Vortex glitter lamp differently than Amazon.com does:

Sounds like if the reviews are lumped together then the product description is lumped together also.  Pretty lame if you ask me.

Yes I am Carol. I could always put the review on Target, Spencer's, etc. But I really want it on Amazon. :) That's where I write all my reviews. The same lamp is sold there by another seller, so maybe I'll just put it there.

LOL I end a lot of my real life statements with it, too. :P Just a word I use a lot. Glad you got a chuckle.

I'm editing the product features via amazon.com - we'll see if that works... at least it won't confused so many people then

Erin, are you on any kind of social media like facebook, twitter?  Sometimes you can review through them.  Just a thought.  Yes, I've read reviews for lamps that weren't even the lamp I was looking at purchasing.  I think Walmart does that too.  I know Spencer's does.  When I was writing my review on my purple Neon, the other reviews were talking about colors of lamps that weren't under the same review.  Stupid.  Well, I guess there is going to be a lot of disgruntled tornado/vortex customers out there!!!

Sorry but ending that comment with fart had me laughing, real mature Nick. That is pooie they count a different model review as a general review on the entire sub listing!
