Thanks Jim! The name Lava Lite was trademarked then and applied to the lamps. The company who made the lamps may not have called themselves Lava Lite, Inc. But their lamps were "Lava Lites" even the small, dainty and petite Imperial model.

It's just branding and trademarks.  For example back before Mazda changed their name to Mazda Motor Company they, the company were Toyo Kogyo, Limited of Japan but they still built and sold Mazdas.  The company trademarked a name and sold their vehicles with that name.  Same with Lava Lite lamps, various owners over the years but the name "Lava Lite" was trademarked from the start.
