Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Okay so I've looked around to see if I could come up with a solution to
my problem, but to no avail... I have a lamp with blue liquid, and
yellow goo that is probably only about 6-7 years old. I admit that after
I first got it I would leave it on for about 5 days at a time (went
home from college on the weekends), it has been shaken a few times in
its past, and it worked fine before I packed it up to move a few years
ago. After I moved it was stored in my attic/garage for about 3 years
(temps anywhere from freezing to +110)... and now that I have pulled it
out of storage, I noticed it has a problem of water bubbles in the goo.

I found where someone else had a similar problem and they drained the liquid and cycled the goo from solid to liquid and back again, drained off the liquid that accumulated from the solid goo, and repeated this
process 3-4 times. Put the liquid back in and well it was to no avail.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of a way to fix it, I would be greatly appreciative.

Yes it is a Blip, and indeed it does have a gold color cap... I will have to try and cycle it to see if it helps. If not I guess I can give it a make over after I get back from BCT/AIT next year... Thanks a million!
