The original color stickers for the Confetti model specifically were first just pink and blue, then later pink, blue and yellow, and the newest ones were pink, blue, yellow and green. The Cosmic Window eight-color sticker might look amazing.
The lamp arrived today BEAUTIFUL!!, there is no colored plastic disk, looks great as is. I do have some extra colored disks from my Cosmic windows so I might try this to see how it looks.
Hey, thanks for writing, I know I was so happy the fluid is full. I know it is a good find, it is on its way to me just checked the tracking #. I will try to get a pic of the bottom.
It's nice to see one of these completely full. I have the confetti GemLamp, mentioned below and some of the liquid has unfortunately evaporated. When you get it, you'll have to take pictures of the plastic colored disk at the bottom of of the bottle. I am interested to see what the condition is like. I had to remove mine which was blue and pink (making it clear) because it had badly melted over the years due to heat. The glitter still flows incredibly, nice find!
I NEVER WILL!
Word of advice, though: do NOT open any fast-moving glitter lamps. The liquid is NOT user-friendly. If one gets broken, air out the room and don't hang around, until all the vapor is gone.
Thanks, I thought it was a rare one, and I thought it might be a bubble lite! SO COOL! the seller sent me a tracking# today so its on its way. Will let you know how it works.
It's VERY rare in lava, the maker called that version a Bubble Lite. The maker of the Stardust Lite/Bubble Lite lamps was "Heat Tapes Inc." of Chicago (a heat tape is a flexible heating element, like you might wind around a water pipe to keep it from freezing). Nothing is known about the company save that the globes/caps are the same used in Lava Lites (Consort, etc.) Both Stardust and Bubble are said by the box to come in gold, red, blue or green, but only red lava ones have been seen so far.
The glitter formula used was also in the "Pagoda Lamp Co" Chicago lamps, with a conical bottle and fancy finial cap, the "Florence Art Co" Chicago glitters, and two MasterCrafters, Chicago glitter clocks (funny, all these companies were in Chicago, but no ties between them have been found!)
Thanks Jonas, I knew some one would have info, a question. I got a Lava lamp 2 days ago ( I HAVE 2 PICTURES OF IT UP IN MY PHOTOS ) the lamp I think is called Starlite I have 2 in glitters Green, and Purple they have the Filigree cylinder with the wood base. Have you ever seen this in Lava version? is it rare? There is 2 pictures up of it in Red lava, let me know what you think
Very late 70s until about 1991. Lava-Simplex GemLite, model is called the Confetti. Was (like all earlier GemLites - Mystique, Continental, Mediterranean, Capri) made only in silver/clear (model 650)...until 1990, when were added the now-rare 642 (silver/hot pink, black base) and 643 (silver/blue, black base) and hyper-rare 700 (gold/clear, brass base). There was also the early 80s GemLamp: a Confetti mounted atop a circular chrome base, with a chrome pipe standing behind it, holding a table lamp socket and shade.
