It doesn't look silicone to me, and I serously doubt it is, as silicone can be really hard to remove (I had to break a Lunar bottle to remove the cone from it, because precedent owner had the good idea to glue it with silicone).
Its silicone that mathmos use on there caps, glue gun glue will just melt when on but silicone wont at that temprecher
One way to open is to iver use a pipe wrench or pour boiling water over the cap - this melts the glue and it comes off easy.
I bet it s just standard glue used in hot glue guns. They even show it (kind of ) in that production video.
I always wonder what kind of glue Mathmos use on their cap.
It looks like neoprene glue (yellow), but not sure.
Anson,
Seriously use your head for a moment, I think you're a good kid, but you need to think things through before asking questions.
If you damage the cap in such a way that you can no longer use it to seal the globe: Buy a cork that fits the globe, and a bit of silicone glue. Apply glue to the sides of the cork and then place the cork firmly in the mouth of the globe, let it rest for a couple days to dry out and cure. That's it.
But bottom line... if your Mom told you not to open your globe or experiment with it, listen to her.
No o-rings on mathmos just a screw-on cap that's glued on so underdeveloped minds dont drink it. Which means Anson is screwed
Apply heat, use towel, screw off.
Screw on.
I'm not sure if there is an O-ring with these, if there is make sure it is in place before recapping.
Glue should not be necessary.
r u kidding me Anson? if its a screw-on cap that's glued on you cant figure out how to put it back on? Your antics are growing old quickly.
