lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion One new color combination coming from Mathmos
"It's certainly easy to get the impression that they are resting on their laurels a bit of late, I do rather miss the Mathmos of the late 90's early/ 00's when they were arguably at their creative peak."

lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion One new color combination coming from Mathmos
"Yeah the wax in some of the blue/blue lamps seemed to take on a curiously purple hue when lit, I had a telstar like that..."

lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion One new color combination coming from Mathmos
"Yeah, noticed that the other day... 'sOK. Probably not quite enough to part me with more cash. Was hoping the colourways featured on the Neo might find their way onto the rest of the range at some point."

lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion Those who are late will be punished by life itself... Metallic Astro gone :-(
"Still maintain that's not the right box, the design of the boxes has changed at various times through the years, that one belongs to a different era from when the astro metallic was on sale. And it's unusual to have the printed logo on…"

lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion Those who are late will be punished by life itself... Metallic Astro gone :-(
"Yeah... bit of an oddity - there was a purple metallic, but the wax in the lamp pictured looks much darker/ glossier than the one released by Mathmos"

lampfancy replied to Peter Panussi's discussion Those who are late will be punished by life itself... Metallic Astro gone :-(
"Don't think that's the original box, seems to be the mid-90's style box - whereas the metallic Astro was sold for a brief period in the early 00's, the cap doesn't quite match the base (looks to be from an earlier lamp than…"
