Thank you! I bet Jim had a lava lamp. I’m new at this. Still playing with my vintage century. It forms a ball and floats in the middle. Unsure what to add/do.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Modulo. Still feeling my way around here. Stumbled across the ning while trying to ID/find parts for a stray globe and got sucked in.
Hi, thanks for the friend request. I bought the lamp on my Avatar at a local car boot sale in around 1999 for £2. I have'nt been able to find out much about it. It was definately factory made, the top with the three bulbs is not a later addition. It is 1960's as it has the early "Arcolectric" switches, brass bulb holders and the pre-1970 red/black/green wiring colours. All of the bulbs are identical old "Bell" branded ones, which supports my "Prototype or exhibition" theory as it was'nt in regular use for long enough to need any bulbs replaced. Shortly after buying it, I took it to Mathmos (they are about 8 miles from where I live), they thought it might be an early prototype, but had no records from the early Crestworth days. The lamp presumably should have had a shade of some type, which is missing.
Thanks for reaching out! My 1977 Model 100 took a topple (I was not there or would have kept the broken cap) and is now missing half its cap. I am eager to find a cap for it but don't see it online There are many discussions here. Where should I go? Thanks so much for reaching out. this is a great group.
Thank you. I am particularly interested in Mathmos lamps and the experience of people in being able to obtain and modify (if necessary) for use in the USA.

Thank you! I am hoping to add photos of them as they get taken out of storage and take over my house, as they should!

Well I'm from the US but living in Honduras. Does that still count?
