Broken cap problem

Hello folks!

I've got an old lava lamp, 1973 vintage, that I had in high school. I had it out and was thinking about selling it, when the cat knocked it off the table. It landed on the top, and the plastic cap on top is cracked (so I don't think it is worth trying to sell any more). The cap still feels secure, but I am wondering if the liquid will start to evaporate out. Should I try to glue the crack with super glue? Should I maybe try to seal underneath with wax?

Now that I am probably keeping the lamp, I'd like to at least keep it running so that I can look at it.

ant., I think it is a Century model. The date on it is 1973. It has the holes in the base. The cap is cracked up the side and partway *around* the cap. I twisted lightly, but it didn't seem to want to come off easily. The crack up the side seems to be getting a tad wider.

Bohdan, where do you get old caps for lava lamps from? I thought about looking for one that had been badly shaken.
