Please help my lava lamp.

recently i've bought a lava lamp from overseas. i was afraid that if i put it in my luggage the lamp would break. cause you'll never know how violent those airport people handle your luggage. anyway... it slipped my mind that you can't bring in any liquids in your hand carry baggage. it only strike me when i was going to board my plane. the airport forced me to empty the liquid out or throw the lamp away. i had no choice but to empty the liquid if i ever want to salvage my lamp. anyway... is there anyone here knows what the clear liquid in the lava lamp is? i really want my lamp to be in working condition again... please help me.
