Just a few questions for the guys who know their stuff...

1. What is the maximum time I should have a Lava Lamp run? I don't want them to get damaged.

2. Is it safe to use household spray paint to change the color of the bases or will it melt off from the heat or start chipping?

3. I have a 40 Watt (Non-Frosted) running in one lamp of mine and a 40 Watt (Frosted) running in another lamp of mine... The 40 Watt Frosted seems to flow better with only a little amount of bubbles. The 40 watt non-frosted creates a lot of bubbles and I think it's heating the lava too quick. Am I only supposed to use 40 Watt Frosted for these?

4. Does a black lava lamp have any specifics I should know to keep it in top shape? (I'll post pictures when I get it)

5. If my lamp is 16.4 inches tall... how many ounces is it?

NOTE: They're both 16.4 inches tall.

Thanks for the quick response. The black lava lamp I ordered is an official lava lite brand. Not made anymore so I've heard. Thanks for advice on the paint. I'll be sure to use that.

Is it bad for the lamp if it overheats and is still on? I've left my green one on overnight once.
