wax on the glass wall is that normal?

hi! I just got a red simple lava lamp for my birthday and after i used it for 2 or 3 times the wax got stuck on the glass wall...is this normal? or is there anything i can do cuz it looks really dirty and after every use more and more wax remains on the glass
