Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi there,

I’m just wondering if anyone knows why the 2 part base centuries do not cast much light out of the pin holes? Seems like the ‘70’s ones really have quite the display of light emitting from the holes on the base.

Also wondering if anyone knows where to find a new black bottom for the base? The previous owner apparently took it off or it broke or something.

Would I have to just buy a base from eBay and take off the black part or something?

Thanks!

I must have to adjust the height of the bulb socket in my 1 piece century because when I’ve tried putting an R-16 in, the globe will not seat properly. The socket must be too high.

Common problem
I see it all the time with restorations

take it apart, raise the socket a few turns and put it back together

DFO NOT put the cord restraint back on (or the plastic base) until you test fit the bulb as this may take several adjustments to get it right
