A SOLUTION WITHOUT REMOVING THE SEALING CAP - Wax separated, not moving or flowing.

Turn on lamp and allow to heat fully.

When lamp is hot and wax has all melted, the denser wax sits on the bottom, the less dense floats on top.

When lamp is fully heated, turn it off.

Allow lamp to cool slightly until you can hold the bottle and remove it from the base.

Gently turn the bottle upside down and support it steadily, taking care not to rupture the sealing cap.

The denser wax and the metal element will fall to the head of the bottle, the less dense wax rises towards the base.

Allow lamp to cool to room temperature. The denser wax will solidify at the head of the bottle.

Turn bottle over and replace on lamp base.

Turn lamp on again.

The fluid slowly heats up, and eventually the denser wax will begin to drip onto the less dense wax. Both waxes will reach the same temperature at the top of the fluid, so the waxes should mix properly. Enjoy watching the drips for a couple of hours.

Leave lamp on until all the wax is properly mixed and flowing. Hopefully the metal element will fall back into its correct position, but if it doesn't, it can be gently tipped into place later.

Be patient.

Don't burn yourself.
