Not sure any of you remember my terrible ebay purchase a while back from a person called - athakur47. I had so many problems, shipping, the items themselves and so on that it was terrible. What do I go an do? I buy from him again! I knew I was missing something. I was like, this name sounds familiar but I could not place it.
I ordered an Electra from him - new in the box - and paid 11/24. He said he would ship out Monday (this week). I was ok with that. I asked him for a tracking Monday and Tuesday. Nothing. I get a message saying he is shipping out Friday. I ask him why? Why does it take a week and a half to ship something out? Waiting for a response back.
Anyways, I decided to search my email for his name and damnit - it was him. The evil bastard I have dealt with before. Sadly I did not note myself or make it so I could not buy from him. So now I am stuck, waiting to see what happens and what kind of item - I may get. Ugh.
DOH!
Why do people take WEEKS to ship shit out? I don't get it. I ship out the same day you paid or the next day depending on whether or not the post office is open. How hard is that to do? Hell, they even have FREE PICK UP! He is shipping FedEX, but still - drop off or pickup - FREE!

Yup. Was one of those plasma lamps. He is just terrible to deal with. Slow to communicate if he does and slow as he'll to ship. I hope this time around is better but at this point I don't know.

Thanks. Yeah, I hope it comes through like it should. I can be patient but it pisses me off to no end when people ship like we live forever.
BTW - Bohdan - What's the scoop with "electra"? Was it a LW ONLY lamp? I see that there are "electra" lamps still being made. Are they knock offs or was the line sold off?
The Electra lamps, basically a spin-off of "plasma sphere" tech, started as their own product, and were then bought by Lava and sold through Spencer Gifts, mainly. And the spirals are the originals. Later, ones shaped like a pair of mushrooms came out, as well as extra-tall spirals - all of these still handblown and hand-shaped. There were three variants on the spirals: clear, and with a light phosphor coating, either same or different color than the glass. The mushrooms were always multicolor phosphor.
All the others: Human heart, globe, tornado (complete with house, car and cow) etc. are mold-blown and came later, as did models where one can unscrew the globe and swap it for a different one.
They're nifty lamps, I hope yours arrives in good shape. If it DOES arrive damaged (I hope not) do keep the power pack and I can send you one I have that's missing the pack, either green or blue.
