Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Ok.. I got the right 40watt frosted bulb, I got a dimmer.. the lamps do work better, but I have noticed now that a blob of wax likes to stay at the top. I really didnt notice it doing this before I  got the correct bulb and dimmer. Is this a normal occurance for a wax blob to stay at the top? Oh I do love my lava!! LOL

  Thanks again for any info...

Yes, it is very normal for a blob of wax to stay at the top. If it's a really big half-melted chunk, sometimes I'll wiggle the top to get it to release, but if it's just a small fully-liquid blob, I'll leave it be. Oftentimes when you turn off your lamp, you'll notice a little is left at the top of the globe.
