Hi again...........so like I say, I've been tinkering. I have an orange liquid, white wax LL 14.5 inch lamp, had for several years. It has always worked beautifully, however over time the liquid has faded to near clear.
Last week I opened it up, and added some orange food colouring, and 2 drops of washing up liquid. With hindsight, I probably added too much colour, so I drained some liquid off, and topped up with distilled water. Colour is now fine. It has slightly altered the flow, in so much as the wax now breaks up into smaller spheres, and have a tendency to sit near the top. It is definitely not the end of the world, but have I missed something.......should I have added salt? More detergent?
Thanks again
James
