Hey all - will 30 watt bulbs work well for 52 and 32 oz globes with goo kit wax?

you can make a power strip dimmer courtesy of Lamphead.

ive got a 30 watt R20 bulb in a coach base right now and they will also fit in centuries but not sure about other lamps and  ive got 2 other lamps on one dimmer by using an extention cord. also ive got 2 tempermental 32ozs that will only flow right on a dimmer or 25 watt golf ball bulbs with foil cuz i cant find 30 watt appliance bulbs locally. to make them fit in the bases i just peeled back the felt and undid the nut and pushed the socket up with a pen and screw the bulb in. once the bulb is it in will keep the socket from moving around then put foil around the inside of the cone and it will raise the temp a bit so the heat out put is more comparable to a 30 watt.

my 32oz with a 40w reveal bulb is getting very hot.  i see small bubbles coming up from the coil, which may be this sucker trying to boil.

I have tried reveal bulbs but they do seem to run hotter.  They also only last a few weeks for me.

update - 30w works great for the 52oz, but i think it's still too hot for the 32oz. i'm going to try a 25w in the 32oz to see if that works better.

here's a video
