Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I bought a Century off of ebay... purple/clear.... and the lava sits in a huge ball at the bottom and only sends off small globules of lava from this. Not all that "groovy" as the descriptions always say from the sellers.... (I hate that phrase btw.) Anyway, will more heat impove the flow? There has to be a simple solution ...I'm hoping.

What kind of bulb are you using? I use a 60 watt but with a dimmer switch set below maximum. One day when I warmed it up, I set the dimmer lower than normal, and the lamp seemed to get stuck in the 'bubble mode'. I think it may be a heat problem, but I'm not an expert.

BTW my lamp also a century, and from the looks of your picture, I seems that heat is the problem. Either that or you have the lamp too hot.
