Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Looking to buy 'another' older Lava Aristrocrat, however this one is a little low on clear fluid.  I know these need some air, but this one it too low. Is it possible to add something to one of these 70's models to get the correct levels back??

You have to be careful about adding fluid. Your best option would be to add fluid from a spare globe from the same era (or year). I did have some luck adding distilled to one of my low 70s Aristocrats, but you have to be careful - you can totally screw up the flow. I got lucky with mine.
