Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago.  It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).

It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps.  I was bowled over by videos of the  Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite.  I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:

We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers.   This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.

Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.

If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.

Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping.  I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

I have never seen Neon Blue...I will guess it is awesome. :) How is Neon Purple? Being a purple freak, I have been wondering :)

Love mine too but it's NOT EXACTLY "neon" purple, is it?

I want one

My name is John Tomlins and I have been a lava lamp collector since the 60s as my first was a century and I would love to add the colossus to my collection. I am very glad to see that there are a few left.

"Simmered" for 2 weeks purple yellow still works shitty

Yup. I've been simmering my P/Y for months. Makes no difference. Junk.

Hey John, welcome to goo central.

And um...some of us have been having colossal problems...including me. :p

But some haven't!

I have to say, I was having a real hard time with my colossus, so we moved it to our furnished basement where the temp is 65' F and it has not stopped running in 4 days. so the external temp with my colossus has definitely been a huge factor. Love my lamp. if its over 68'  we have problems and it will get stuck. I hope this helps folks

I had a chance to get a big one but my friend in alaska I havent heard from him in 6 months so I guess he wants to keep it or he sold it from out from under me. I still want one and I hope I can!

While they are really cool, I am disappointed that their flyer has at least three distinct and obvious grammatical errors. ;)

I think this is a pretty good indicator of things in general at LL. When I win the Powerball lottery I will buy LL and make it what we want it to be.
