Colossus Lamps available!

Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago.  It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends). 

It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps.  I was bowled over by videos of the  Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite.  I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:

I just paid $1300 for one that was Virgin NOS red Clear only a few weeks ago

I'd go as high as $1500 if shipping isnt a killer

I'm looking for another to flank the other side of the TV

I have a White painted base and cap to trade for mint condition silver base cap

Not until it wears out...its got really good flow after dropping in a mathmos lunar coil it'd be a shame to mess with it at this point.  I did have to filter it too when I 1st got it...so its uncapped and ready for a kit once the original lava gets icky or stops flowing decent.

$2,000 is a respectable offer for a Colossus.

Anyone that is willing to spend that much deserves to own one.

MileHigh, thank you for the kind words. When i was younger I always loved lava lamps but never got around to buying one and often went into Spencer's at mall of America and saw them lite up with their bright colors and oozing! I do remember about 10-15years ago at the Spencer's in moa they did have a colossus lamp near the doorway and it was huge! I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever seen but could never afford it nor did I think it was for sale. But I have always wanted one since too this day and will continue on hunting for one. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. =]

My wife has been after me to sell my “extra” colossus. It has sat in the living room since purchased in 2013. Tore the box off, but never assembled and started. It has morphed into a table on top of the styrofoam. My other red/clear had finally settled down and runs perfectly for days if i leave it on, so we never assembled this one as the planned spot for the pair never got built. Only regret is the base and cap for the second one is silver. They did not have 2 matching bases when i got them.

  I still want to run it, but wife says it is too big and one is enough. I told her i paid $3000 for it and if she could get my money back, i would sell it. She tried to sell, but cannot find anyone to give her $3000,,,lol,,,:) 

I win ! ! !   (She isn’t super happy about it but that corner of the room  is mine!) 

i was bored this morning so i just reread all 82 pages of this thread.

I wish my camera could accurately capture the red colossus
