Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago. It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).
It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps. I was bowled over by videos of the Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite. I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:
We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers. This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.
Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.
If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.
Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping. I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

In reality NONE of us probably should have done it. :p
But as one person who did do it, I'm glad!!
Susan finally answered me.. The shipping cost alone is $1800.. Yep thats right.. ! Pretty god damn expensive.. And even if i would pay that amount she wont ship to DK :'(
You guys have no idea how jalous i am.. My dream lamp will never be mine.. :( You dont know how hard this is on me !
Have you thought of sending it to a friend in the USA and then go from there?

Man...talk about bittersweet...
Yay, Autumn!!
...And hugs, Da9L. :(
Sorry, I didn't see this before! There were places where the goo had come away from the coil, and the coil was totally bare. Sometimes that would drastically affect flow, and sometimes it wouldn't. I have also seen coil filled with lava on the bottom, but only right after it spiked.

Loren,
The one time your lava went off the coils, was there still a thin bit of goo left on the coil, or was the coil completely bare of any goo?
Oh mannnnnnn, now I have to wait until FRIDAY!!! No fault of LW, the fault lies with the local delivery company (A. Duie Pile, or however you spell it). AND, they had the nerve to ask if I could unload the pallet from the truck!!! My response, "um, NO!"
So......umm......I'm not a bodybuilder or anything........don't spend a lot of time around weights......but i'm a big guy with a fair amount of strength. My question to those who've gotten their colossus already........how hard is it to lift the globe up onto the base? Can it be done alone? My gf is willing to help, but this thing looks bigger than she is!!
