Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago.  It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).

It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps.  I was bowled over by videos of the  Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite.  I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:

We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers.   This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.

Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.

If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.

Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping.  I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

Funny - I was told I was getting the one that was in the Pope's office.  Appears mine will be blessed.

old stock, when I talked to Susan yesterday she said I am getting the one that has been in the presidents office. Al of them have been quality checked and ran to make sure they do in fact run

THAT IS NOT FAIR, jim and gwen. particularly you gwen, I'm a fan of the current admin.

wow, these things are selling like hotcakes!  can't wait for the photos and videos of these beauties.  damn, i'm jealous. :)

Looks like I'm getting one after all! She said they had about 30 left, and 15 of them are blue/yellow. LOL! I guess nobody else wanted something so common! My rationale is this: I don't WANT to ever open this, but the only place I have in the house to put it is next to a window. If the blue leeches out in the sun, I can re-dye the water another color like purple, orange or green, or keep it clear and either keep the clear/yellow, or make it clear/green by adding blue dye, or a clear/orange by adding red dye. Point is, I'll have more options with a blue/yellow...I think. Of course I could always make a clear/red a clear/orange too...

LOL!

At least you're thinking ahead...I bet some clear UV filter film on the window would help with the not fading though.  I have never had a blue/yellow and hated the thought of getting one and not liking the colors, I want to love it from the get go.

Congratulations that you were able to snag one.

blue yellows aren't that bad! I really love my grande.

I don't think blue/yellows are bad, just not having one didn't want to make an expensive mistake.  Having identified the problem, I do plan on remedying it by getting a grande or 52oz one just to add to the collection.

Was sent an email from susan mine shipped yesterday should have it monday or tuesday the only thing now that worries me is it will sit on a truck over the weekend in the freezing cold so I hope its ok.

hubby and i asked for monday shipping to prevent that very issue

You would think LL would take that into consideration when shipping somthing that big that has water in it all i can do now is just hope its ok (crossing my fingers).

My Colossus is here!!!  Many pictures coming.  Still unpacking and setting up.  The purple liquid appears crystal clear!  Very excited.

It's a purple/yellow.  Here it is unpacked.  Beautiful!  It's going to be hard to wait 24 hours before turning it on.

As soon as I finish my gin and tonic, I'll post a more complete set of photos.  So far, I'm very happy!
