Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi everyone

I recently purchased a old century off etsy and I found out that the cap has a hairline crack and the liquid seeps out.  I'm really sad to see this because I love the lamp so much.  I believe it's from the 60's.  I can't make out the date on the inside of the globe.  I attached a couple pics below.  Anyone have a spare cap I could have?

It's mostly likely from the early 70s, but I agree - gorgeous lamp!

There aren't many great options for replacement caps, but you have two choices:

1) find one from another "parts" lamp (hard to do)

2) There's someone on here who has 3D printed some, I believe. Check here: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/replacement-screw-cap-plans-...

Purchase here (link from the thread above): https://www.shapeways.com/product/4TJ6AR66D/lava-cap-for-70-s-quot-...

You can always send your CAD file to this place and have it made out of just about any material known to man with any finish.

Thank you both.

If you don't mind it not looking like the one that came with the lamp, contact KIRK, he sells glitter fluid and glitter. He has some caps that fit century lamps that are kinda generic silver caps. They do fit as I have some of them. They don't look that bad to be honest.

Fix the cap.. unscrew it.. Put some black RTV from an autoparts store on the inside of the cap.. screw it back on and it wont leak anymore
