Crestworth Traction Lamp help required

Hi,

I know this isn't strictly goo but I picked up an old Crestworth Traction Lamp via ebay which doesn't function as it should.

When I turn the power on the lamp lights up but the wheels don't turn.
I can hear what I believe is the motor but I am looking for advice on how to open the lamp base to access the motor mechanism to see if it can be repaired.

Any info would be appreciated.
