Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I dropped one of my favorite lava lamps last week! It totally screwed with the lava. I've had to drain the liquid, let the bubbles and liquid out of the lava and totally replace the liquid. This lava is super weird. I have filtered water in and added nothing-the lava clouds the liquid (which could be due to a too hot bulb) and most of it stays at the top of the globe. It also has a funny looking consistancy, like if you were to stretch chewed bubble gum. Obviously there is not much cycling going on either. I wondered if I could add PERK to the lava to make it work better? Anyone have any suggestions? And if I were to add PERK how do I go about this?

i think that the wax may be lost i'm afraid. i had this problem too, adding stuff to the liquid only seemed to intensify the weirdness of the lava.
the liquid should however, be more than just filtered water. you need salt solution and tiny little bit of soap solution as well.
If i were you I would look at other posts regarding re-filling lamps, that will tell you better how to do the liquid.
I think if you get the liquid right you may have a hope.
Good luck!
