So was out shopping with the wife today and we stopped by a Five Below store to take a look around.
While the wife looked around I went down an aisle and low and behold I saw an entire shelf of 13" groovy lights, both glitter and lava version. There must have been 50 boxes on the shelf.
So out of curiosity, for the lava models, I found what I thought was each color combo they sell and there was quite a few.
Being Mr. Curious that I am I decided to look at each bottle and see what I would find. Shockingly each and every bottle no matter what the color combo the fluid was crystal clear.
For $5 I said what the heck and took home a clear liquid with blue lava. Let it warm up and it actually works quite well. The lava is more BLOBBY than it is SNOTTY but works no worse than a new lava lamp at Walmart or Spencers.
Also, unlike the lava brand models I bought recently, these little guys don't really have bubbles in the lava on initial use, at least the one I have doesn't. Wonder why this is?
Not like these little lamps are going to compete with U.S. made anything but for a small table or dresser these little guys are nice little accents.
Now that I know they work half decent, I might pick up one of the odd combos they had there when I pass by next.
See attached photos. Now in the photo the fluid looks a tiny bit hazy but I assure you in person, you can see right through it. I think the camera over exposed the photo for some reason, maybe to close the the one with the neon green lava.
Really just an FYI if any of you have a Five Below near by.
Now I am curious about the glitter versions :p

They are decent little lamps for the price and are also great for refills on larger lamps. I have refilled a couple older screw cap lamps with the glitter over the years.
