Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

It would appear I'm having no luck at all with my Fluidium!

Firstly I couldn't get hold of the correct bulb for it and managed to scorch the base with a halogen bulb (don't do it folks!). But after some great advice on here I managed to track down the correct type.

I finally got it working nicely, and was pretty chuffed with it only for the socket to go pop one morning when I turned it on... Nooooo!

So my question is this, I know I could/should probably take it to an electrician, but they're gonna charge me a lot I'm sure, so I wondered if I could find a work around without getting into the realms of tinkering with electrics (I really wouldn't have a clue what I was doing so definitely wouldn't even try).

I have seen others on here rewiring things, but I don't fancy that.

So I was looking on eBay, and came across one of these...

I just thought then it would just be a case of getting it mounted inside the base, and I wouldn't have to touch the wiring.

If someone could advise me that this would work that'd be fantastic, as at the minute I've a dead lava lamp :(

You can use these plug in adapter have you changed your fuse as seems odd when your socket keep blowing unless something tripping out like short circuiting another think you can do and will work is to get a old astro baby base and swap the new cord and lead the socket just clips into the socket base

Oh my, how embarrassing! It was the the fuse! Thank you so much John that should have been the very first thing I checked! We're back in business! Good to know that the old astro baby cord/socket are the same as the Fluidiums tho.
