Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Did any member here try ( and succeed) on refilling a fluidium using an astro bottle?

I tried with an purple/orange, carefully heating (with a dimmer) the astro almost emptied of the liquid (leaving just 1 cm above the wax) than pourring the wax using a funnel and a pipe into the fluidium bottle.I let it stay overnight than filled it witht the rest of the astro fluid.
Today, I turned on the fluidium, but nothing happened after 2 hours. Just the first heating phase, with the spikes going all over the top of the bottle. Some time after, they felt down and nothing more: no goo oozing... Sad me!

Did you add any coils to the fludium bottle, Also did you put most of the liquid from the astro into the bottle first cold as this helps and stop the wax from sticking. If you could add a picture that qould be good. I would say that if you are missing the coil the wax will not form correctly.
Bonjour, Ca va?

After spiking, and then subsequent sinking of the wax, you may still have to wait quite some time for the bubbling to occur. I would try it again and see what happens. Try to give it at least an hour or even two after spiking has occured.

Best wishes

First off all, thanks for your answers!

So, here is what I did.
I emptied the fluidium, cleaned it very carefully, let the 2 coils in it: one in the bottom and the other at the first floor. Before re filling it up, I rinsed it with a bit of the old fluidium liquid. I then pourred the astro wax in it with a funnel and a big long pipe, let it stay for a night then pourrend the rest of the astro liquid in the fluidium bottle and gave it some peace.

What it did, spiked, stayed like this for a long time, sinked a bit, after 2 or 3 hours almost melted and made some spare bubbles at time.
What I do noticed is that the wax seemed barely hot enough to ooze, bubbles getting to the midle of the bottle like some half hot/half cold egg then sink back down.

My conclusion is that first it seems to need an astro and a half (wax) to refill a fluidium. One only gives me in height nearly 1cm less of wax. The wax is also not soft enough to be well heated. I don't know yet if I will buy an astro refill to add some wax to this project or if I simply declare it dead for good and make it RIP. What will you do?
