Funky Junky Lava

So my newest lava lamp is the only one i've ever had trouble with. It was funky from the start. The lava floats at the top and is all chunky, it doesn't look smooth either. I've added some photos as well. I have no clue what to do. Help?

i would return it if you purchased it from a store.  it seems as if the density of the wax or liquid is off.
