Glitter Replacement?

I picked up a wizard glitter for $1.00 at a yard sale, but the glitter is junk.  Can the fluid be reused with a different glitter?  I think it would be nice to have moon&stars glitter to match the cut-outs in the base and cap.  Also, is there a way to color the faded fluid?
