Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I asked this before and nobody really knew, so I am asking again after a while. Two of my goo kits both need a lot of heat to run. They take a few hours to heat on aristocrat bases and will not flow on century bases unless their is a 60 watt bulb. I know it is not a problem with the heating. Do i just need to run them some more, or is this normal sometimes. I know the wax is not defective because I refilled a 32oz globe and it flows so well words can't describe it. Any ideas why these globes require so much heat?

I've made 2 32oz & 2 52oz gookits.  The 52oz globes never

get going on a 40w bulb, but heat up fine with a 60w bulb.

They do run hot after 4-5 hours so I back them down a

bit using an inline dimmer in the power cord.

Funny thing is, the manufacturer states the wax is

more efficient and requires less heat.  Not so...

This is just a personal observation based on

running these lamps every day for 8 weeks.

The thing is some people on here say their goo kits require less heat also.

Perhaps the wax may be inconsistent ?

I'm working on my first quart, 3 x 32oz & 2 x 52oz

with some wax left over. I plan on ordering another

full kit so maybe the next batch may be different ?
